AI and the Labor Market

Lecture Series "Artificial Intelligence in Science and Society"/ Ringvorlesung "Künstliche Intelligenz in Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft"

On Wednesday, July 27th, 2022, Prof. Ines Helm (Professor of AI in Economics, LMU Munich)  will present the lecture "AI and the Labor Market" a lecture of the lecture series "Artificial Intelligence in Science and Society."

The last two decades have witnessed major advances in artificial intelligence and robotics. While there is the promise of productivity gains and growth, there exists also fear that AI will replace workers and lead to widespread unemployment. This lecture will discuss the potential impact of AI on the labor market, and show up similarities and differences to past episodes of technological change.

The lecture is a component of the new minor "AI as a major Minor" (AIM@LMU, https://www.kiml.ifi.lmu.de/studies-teaching/ringvorlesung), currently in the planning phase, and open to all LMU students.

When: Wednesday 16h - 18h (c.t.)
Where: Geschw.-Scholl-Pl. 1 (A) - A 120, on-site, max. 120 seats
Language: English and German

Please note the currently valid Corona regulations at the LMU. In particular, wearing an FFP2 mask is required if the minimum distance of 1.50 m cannot be maintained.
